Transparency is a core value at alfred. This Affiliate Disclosure explains how Vendra Loque LLC dba alfred ("alfred," "we," "us," or "our") earns revenue through affiliate partnerships, how those relationships work, and—critically—how they do and do not influence the product recommendations you see.
We believe you deserve to know exactly how our business model works so you can trust the recommendations we provide.
1. How alfred Earns Revenue
alfred is a free product recommendation service. We earn revenue primarily through affiliate commissions. When you click a product link within alfred and make a qualifying purchase from a third-party retailer, alfred may earn a small commission from that retailer at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you arrive at the retailer through alfred or directly.
Product links within alfred contain affiliate tracking parameters that allow retailers to attribute qualifying purchases to alfred for commission purposes. These parameters do not affect the product price, your browsing experience on the retailer's website, or the retailer's own privacy practices.
2. Amazon Associates Program
As an Amazon Associate, alfred earns from qualifying purchases.
alfred is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites and applications to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites (including but not limited to Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.ca, Amazon.de, and other international Amazon marketplaces).
When you click on an Amazon product link within alfred, you are redirected to Amazon.com (or the applicable Amazon marketplace) with an affiliate tracking tag. If you make a qualifying purchase within the attribution window established by Amazon's program terms, alfred earns a commission. The commission rate varies by product category and is determined by Amazon, not by alfred.
3. Other Affiliate Programs
In addition to the Amazon Associates Program, alfred participates in affiliate programs with other retailers and affiliate networks. These may include, but are not limited to:

4. How Commissions Affect Recommendations
Our Commitment
Affiliate commissions do not determine which products alfred recommends. Commission rates are used only as a tiebreaker when two or more products are otherwise equally matched across all other quality and preference criteria. A product will never rank higher solely because it pays a higher commission.
alfred's recommendation engine evaluates products based on a multi-factor scoring system. The factors are weighted in the following order of priority:
Your Preferences
Your stated priorities, brand preferences, budget constraints, and specific requirements are the primary driver of every recommendation. alfred personalizes results to match what you asked for.
Product Fit
We analyze reviews from multiple sources using AI-powered analysis to assess real-world quality, durability, performance, and user satisfaction across the attributes that matter most.
Availability
Whether the product is currently in stock, available for purchase in your region, and can be delivered within a reasonable timeframe.
Commission (Tiebreaker Only)
When two or more products score equally across all of the above factors, the commission rate may be used as a tiebreaker. This is the only scenario in which affiliate revenue influences product ordering. A product with a lower quality score will never outrank a higher-quality product because of commission rates.
This weighting model ensures that recommendations serve your interests first. Our business model succeeds when you find products you genuinely love—not when we push products that pay the highest commissions.
5. Sponsored Content Policy
From time to time, alfred may display sponsored content or promoted product placements from brand partners. When this occurs:
- Clear labeling: All sponsored content is clearly and prominently labeled as "Sponsored," "Promoted," or "Ad" so you can always distinguish paid placements from organic recommendations.
- Separation from organic results: Sponsored placements do not affect the ranking or scoring of organic (non-sponsored) recommendations. Organic results are generated solely by our recommendation algorithm based on the criteria described in Section 4 above.
- Quality standards: Even sponsored products must meet minimum quality thresholds. We reserve the right to decline sponsorship opportunities for products that do not meet our quality standards or that we believe would not serve our users well.
- Editorial independence: Sponsors do not have editorial input into alfred's organic recommendation algorithm, scoring methodology, or review analysis processes.
If you are unsure whether a recommendation is organic or sponsored, look for the sponsorship label. If no label is present, the recommendation is organic and generated purely by our algorithm based on your preferences and product quality.
6. No Professional Advice
alfred provides product recommendations for informational purposes only. Our recommendations do not constitute professional advice of any kind, including but not limited to:
- Financial, investment, or purchasing advice
- Medical, health, or safety advice
- Legal advice
- Professional product testing or certification
Product information, pricing, specifications, and reviews displayed in alfred are sourced from third parties and may not be accurate, complete, or current. Prices and availability are subject to change at any time without notice. Always verify product details, pricing, and suitability directly with the retailer before making a purchase.
You are solely responsible for your purchasing decisions. alfred is not liable for any loss, damage, or dissatisfaction resulting from products purchased through affiliate links. For product-related issues, including returns, refunds, warranties, and defects, please contact the retailer directly.
7. International Compliance
alfred is committed to complying with advertising disclosure and consumer protection laws in all jurisdictions where the Service is available. This disclosure is designed to satisfy the requirements of the following regulatory frameworks:
7.1 United States — FTC Guidelines
This disclosure complies with the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255) and the FTC's guidance on affiliate marketing disclosures. The FTC requires that material connections between endorsers and sellers be clearly and conspicuously disclosed. alfred discloses its affiliate relationships on every page of the Service through footer disclosures and through this dedicated Affiliate Disclosure page, which is linked from every page of our website and app.
7.2 European Union — Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (UCPD)
Under the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC) and the Omnibus Directive (2019/2161), traders must not use misleading commercial practices or fail to disclose the commercial intent behind a recommendation. alfred identifies itself as an affiliate-supported recommendation service, clearly labels sponsored content, and does not present paid placements as organic recommendations. alfred's practices comply with the principle that commercial intent must be transparent to consumers.
7.3 United Kingdom — Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations (CPR)
alfred's disclosure practices comply with the UK Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 (as amended) and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) guidance on social media endorsements and online reviews. We disclose our affiliate relationships clearly and do not engage in misleading omissions regarding our commercial interests.
7.4 Australia — Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
alfred's practices comply with the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010), which prohibits misleading or deceptive conduct in trade or commerce. We do not make false or misleading representations about the nature of our recommendations or our commercial relationships with retailers.
